Trimo Urban Crash is an international architectural competition. Its purpose is to challenge students of architecture to bold architectural planning and the creative transformation of the urban environment.〔(Image Inc. announcement )〕 Students are encouraged to use advanced materials and construction technologies. The best works are selected by an international jury and visitors to the official web page. The winning works are then put into public use. The competition is sponsored and run by the Trimo company, which has established itself as one of Europe’s leading companies developing original and complete solutions for steel buildings, roofs, façades, steel constructions, containers and sound and insulation systemsproduces. The company was founded in 1961 and is based in Trebnje, Slovenia. The 2007 Trimo Urban Crash competition was open to all students of the schools of architecture in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade. The winner in 2007 was Jelena Grujić with her so-called relaxation wall - a kind of couch with the river view. Second place went to Rok Grdiša and his pavilion. The winning project was placed at the bank of Ljubljanica river and the second project in Tivoli park in Ljubljana. The 2009 Trimo Urban Crash competition was open to all students of architecture and design all over the world. The winners were Jan Ledwon and Alicja Chola from Poland with their cultural stage. The winning project was placed on a platform in Metelkova, a unique cultural zone in Ljubljana. The international competition of Trimo Urban Crash 2010/2011 is open from 15 October 2010 for students of architecture and design from all over the world. The competition will last until 31 January 2011 and challenge students to prepare a solution for an original urban installation. The winning project will be built by Trimo in residential district of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
